Counseling for Parent/Caregiver

Are you feeling fed up with repeating yourself? Do you notice that strong emotions overwhelm you? Is there a loss of joy or pleasure in parenting? Not sure how to navigate your child’s behaviors.

Parenting children presents unique challenges that can bring up feelings of anxiety and anger. Emily can provide non-judgmental support as you navigate the various challenges you face. Such as,

  • Overwhelming feelings of anger and frustration

  • Tired of yelling

  • Worried you are a bad parent

  • Struggling with having positive communication with your child

  • Juggling siblings

  • New baby, new worries

Brief Counseling consists of 6, one hour sessions, once a week.


Family Counseling

It all begins with connection. We learn about ourselves through our relationship with others, especially as we navigate challenging behaviors and emotions. Nowhere is this more true than in a parent/caregiver & child relationship. In sessions, the therapist will provide concrete tools and interventions that can repair relationships and transform issues.

Areas to focus on:

  • Difficulties on supporting your child with emotional regulation

  • Challenges with setting boundaries

  • Not knowing how to play and engage your child

  • Freezing or flying into a rage when your child shows strong emotions

Sessions will include A mix of virtual and In Person sessions depending on each families needs

  • 5 to 8 sessions with parent only

  • 3 to 5 sessions with parent and the child
